Event Decorating Academy is the first one in the industry to offer a unique program that provides state of the art event décor training. Our school teaches designs that can be easily made by beginners in entry level as well as advanced techniques for advanced students who wish to learn new techniques and designs. Each course is a one day class. It will concentrate on intense hands on and techniques.

The Event decorating Academy also offers the Event Decorator Certification Program (CED) this is your first step toward the high-paying, stimulating, and rewarding profession you’ve always wanted. A Certified Event Decorator is a person that has taken training in all aspects of decorating and has passed the written and practice test. Training includes, fabric draping, balloon décor, flower arranging, theme props, lighting and Balloon Sculpting.

Even if you have been in business for a while, getting certified in an array of different decorations will help increase your sales. EDA is managed by Multi- award winning balloon artist & designer Carmen Ballering. (read Bio) Since 1990, this decor specialist has created award winning dramatic eye-catching centerpieces and decorations with, theme prop elements, Balloons and luxurious fabric overlays. Carmen Ballering is Milwaukee’s leader in the design and installation of fabrics. She enhances the look and feel of hotel ballrooms, convention centers, school gymnasiums, tents and more. Her attention to detail will help our students to understand the importance of first impressions.

In these programs, students will learn different types of decorations for different occasions and themes. It is important to incorporate prop rentals, fabric and flower designs into your business. Balloons are not always welcome in some venues. Offering options to your customers will increase your sales.

These classes will give you the opportunity to build up a portfolio full of great decorations. Having the experience will help your business right away. We can teach anyone to decorate for any event or occasion. Each class can be completed in just one day. They are mostly hands on; they will be offered on weekdays, and some Saturdays. Classes include a book full of information and extra space to take notes.

What does EDA offer

Beginner Courses

These programs will show you the basics with instructions and hands on training. Our instructor will train each individual considering the level of each student.

Intermediate courses

You must complete the basic elementary courses or be at an intermediate level in order to take any of the intermediate courses. These classes will not go over the basics they will concentrate on designs.

Advance Courses

You must complete the basic elementary & intermediate courses in order to take any of the advance courses or you have to be an advance decorator. These classes will not go over the basics they will concentrate on designs. No refunds on classes will be given for lack of attending beginner courses.

Small Class settings

We offer small-scale classes. The maximum number of students in a class is 15 students per class in order to keep the high quality of instruction.

Languages

Classes are offered in English or Spanish. Please make sure you register in the correct one. Spanish classes are noted as such next to the title.

Classrooms setting

We have a classroom style room with tables and chairs for your comfort, in addition to our decorating areas.

Props

We own a great selection of props. We offer the opportunity to our students to experience decorating with props. They will learn the different designs they can make with them, before they go and purchase them. We provide students with vendor information if they wish to purchase them.

Fabrics

We have a wide variety of fabrics that have been professionally treated with fire retardant solutions to be in compliance with all state and local fire regulations. They will be used by our student to get all the hands on practice they need.

Enrollment

We accept enrollment on FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED basis. Every student needs to fill out an enrollment application online or print one and fax or mail it to us. All enrollment applications must include the registration deposit. Tuition fees are subject to change without notice.

Tuition fees

You can depend on us for affordable decorating courses. All of our courses have different fees; it depends on the materials needed for each class. See class descriptions for tuition fees. All classes required a deposit to hold your space. Deposits for holding class spaces are not refundable. Classes must be paid in advance or the day of, before the class starts.
